The immigration bill is dead. Or is it? I assure you that it will rear its’ ugly head again. Perhaps this time it will see the light of day through the committee process so that the public is aware of the idiocy they will try again to perpetrate.

In hopes of preventing another debacle such as we just witnessed, it is not time to sit back and savor victory, but to remain as active as we have been in helping defeat it!

Some suggestions:

1) Close and make the border secure FIRST!

2) Begin immediate enforcement of employers while announcing a 90 day moratorium on individual enforcement for these reasons:

    a. Announce and begin legislating NEW and stiffer felony penalties for illegal immigration to take effect at end of moratorium.

   b. Allow those here to suffer NO penalty if they return to home country and apply legally.

   c. Those choosing to stay WILL suffer the existing misdemeanor penalties and be allowed to stay TEMPORARILY with a criminal record. Subsequent offenses (including serious summary offenses) result in deportation and loss of right to APPLY for ANY kind of visa.

   d. Those choosing to stay and in compliance will have record expunged at end of five years and be allowed to apply AT END OF LINE with new temporary visa and same restrictions as in (c) until application is approved.

3) At end of 90 day moratorium, increased penalties for illegal immigration take effect and

   a. Result in PERMANENT loss of immigration privilege for first offense, and,

   b. Immediate deportation.

With borders closed, enforcement begun, and new penalties in place, the entire immigration system can then be reworked incrementally to effect a more viable immigration policy.

From a national security perspective, this does contain a kind of amnesty, but one much easier to enforce and likely to result in the type of immigrant we want. We are a sovereign nation and CAN set these parameters!

These simple suggestions would solve some immediate problems, but there are others regarding things such as assimilation. Islam is a culture that does not assimilate and recognizes no national identity unless it is “Sharia”. Our immigration policy MUST address this! Read on…

As the subtitle suggests, far from being the brightest in a 100 watt box of bulbs, I reside at the end of the aisle in the blister-packs of 7 watt night lights. What little light I can shed on an issue is therefore small, and does not suffer from the pretensions of being politically correct. I simply don’t posses the intelligence, or so I’ve been told.

Our country is beset by major problems, most of which are not being dealt with by our “best and brightest”. Immigration, oil dependency, secularization, socialistic entitlements, and unbridled government growth are just a few, and one dealt with least of all, Islamification, unless you consider the GWOT a part of that. It is the worldwide Islamification with which this repost deals, and it cannot be dealt with in a politically correct manner. Only truth will suffice!

An expose of the demographics involving the Islamification of Europe is provided in Mark Steyns’ “America Alone”, a book I highly recommend. It is happening in Canada and America as well as other areas on the globe. I can attest to this from having lived in Holland for 10 years until ’97. Mr. Steyn, however does miss one point, and that is how our foreign policy deals with it. It is this failure that actually aids and abets the worldwide spread of Islam.

The politically correct view is that Islam is “a religion of peace”. Even the most cursory examination of Islamic history, methods, and tactics reveals a picture that is quite the opposite. Our foreign policy, and that of Europe, falls into this trap because we attempt to use diplomacy and negotiation to deal with terrorists and rogue Islamic regimes. IT FAILS…and here is why!

The story behind this, however, is the Quraysh model or strategy employed by Mohammed himself, and followed right through Islamic history to this day by, most notably, the Palestinians and Mahmoud Amadinijad of Iran. Simply put, it consists of lying to obtain a cease-fire or treaty before your defeat is total so that you can rebuild, rearm, and break your promise to fight again! How do you negotiate with this?

The short answer is that you don’t negotiate! Diplomacy doesn’t work! The only thing that will work is the realization that these people understand only victory or defeat! There is no middle ground!

As Americans, we aid and abet with our open borders, tolerance and “diversity”, and we finance the entire process with our oil dependency! The Saudis are particularly complicit in the spread of Wahabbism, an extremist form of Islam that is dangerous beyond measure, and WE FINANCE IT! I can think of no better argument for drilling for oil in ANWR, off Florida, or anywhere else we need to attain energy independence.

Without the funds, the Saudis wouldn’t be able to set up madrassa schools within our borders, and as open as they are, allow terrorists freedom of movement. With our current immigration debacle, and cooperation of Hispanic gangs such as MS-13, terrorists are home free!

Negotiate? Be tolerant in the name of diversity? What has negotiation with Islamic extremists gotten Israel? They have given tangible (land) concessions and promises they have kept for what? Yassir Arafat explained in a South African mosque shortly after the Oslo Peace Accords were signed that it was “after the Quraysh Model”. As so it goes to this day!! Beware the modern Trojan horse!

In spite of this, we persist in pursuing diplomacy and negotiation! Nancy Pelosi goes to Syria, negotiators go to Iran, George Bush appeases Vladimir Putin, (no friend there!), and our Congress dithers about immigration reform, oil exploration, and national security that has already been so badly compromised it is a bad joke!!

As the most powerful nation on the face of the earth, we could deal with this from a position of strength if we had the resolve to simply face reality. Iraq, for example, is in reality only a battle in a much larger war that will continue for generations. That battle must be won, or we will lose, silently and without a whimper, just as is happening in Europe now.

The “best and brightest” confuse and obfuscate our problems while we“dim bulbs” obsequiously sit by and defer to them. If we don’t SOON , if not immediately, institute major changes in our government AND the way they do things, we are in serious trouble as a nation.

And that is seen by the dim light of a seven watt bulb! I would think that we must give careful consideration to not only border closure, but WHO we allow to come across that border! We cannot afford to wait for the next terror attack to take action!!!

What the liberals get right can be identified with one word – ACTIVISM.

While we as conservatives also participate in activism, we tend to do so within the context of traditional morals and values, the ultimate result of which is that we are not heard.

We operate at a distinct disadvantage in that the liberals have powerful allies in the MSM that we do not. They are therefore heard loudly. They generate exposure to the general populace that is effective, yielding results!

The methods and tactics that are employed in this activism bring to mind the expression that ‘the end justifies the means’. I in no way advocate the methods employed by the liberals, but the old saying goes, “fight fire with fire”. Are we to descend to their puerile level of name-calling and vilipendious rhetoric to achieve our objectives?

The results yielded by this activism have been incremental in nature. All one has to do is study the progressive movement from the time of Woodrow Wilson to the present. As an educator, Wilson understood the importance of inculcating young minds with the progressive message. What has resulted is an educational system and an academia that is almost wholly liberal. It is a battle won in a much larger war.

As this country turns away from its traditional founding values into a morass of secularism, we can rationalize ANYTHING as having some good in it, producing a million shades of grey, but no more black and white.

Liberal activism, with the complicity of the MSM, allows a disproportionately small portion of our population to have a huge voice. And believe me, it is heard!

A current example is Rosie O’Donnell, pushing an extreme left wing agenda.

Ah, but she does much good with her charitable work, you say. Sorry, but I would offer the analogy that her ‘good works’ are a PR stunt similar to the purchase of medieval indulgences to assuage a guilty conscience.

President Bush is now ‘mulling’ over the possibility of troop withdrawals, in addition to pushing the ‘illegal behavior is fine with us’ immigration bill. Is this capitulation to liberal activism or something more sinister? I’ll leave it to you to answer those questions.

In the final analysis, we need to DO something other than what we have been doing because we are losing the battles and therefore the war. Losing this war means losing our country as we have known it. To win this war will require ACTIVISM on a level we as conservatives have never employed. Whether we must drain the swamp by ballot box revolution, employ congressional recall petitions, or some other as yet tried method, we cannot afford to lose!

Part3 - Food for thought

So far, I’ve only touched on perhaps three issues: Iraq and terrorism (which are related), and illegal immigration. Not much has been done about either due to infighting of a partisan nature between our ideologically different representatives in Congress. But whom do they represent?

This brings up a much larger issue, one that is rarely if ever discussed. Take another look at the above-mentioned quote. Supposedly these people in Congress represent us as citizens, but how can they represent us properly when half of us remain silent and don’t participate in the process? The larger issue is that Congress represents itself in that they are interested only in the perpetuation of power and we, as citizens, are to blame for allowing the career politician to exist. Something (?) has to be done!!!

Walt Kelly said through his comic strip character Pogo, “ We has met the enemy and he is us”. We are our own worst enemies BECAUSE we allow the status quo to continue to exist. It is painfully evident that wholesale changes are needed, particularly in 535 so-called representatives in Congress in whom WE have vested the POWER to RULE us. We, therefore, as citizens, are vested with the power to change things. Perhaps it is time that the career politician faces his or her political extinction.

Crazy as it sounds, it would be well to start a grassroots movement that would generate some true representation. Vote them ALL out and eliminate the political machine into which so much money, effort, and time is wasted on incumbent power perpetuation. How many times in our history have you heard the campaign promises, only to discover in subsequent years that you have been lied to?

We need a constitutional amendment creating a DRAFT!!! Not a military draft, but a draft to create a pool of public SERVANTS (there is some irony here, because servants do not rule, they serve) that would be truly representational. Much like jury duty, our citizenry could be tapped to serve as either representative or senator, NEVER to serve in that position again. Power, then, would be removed as an enticement for the corruption that so permeates our current system.

Before I am attacked before using this Biblical quote, it has nothing to do with my personal faith or religiosity, it is simply good advice, and prophetic in its nature particularly when viewed in the context of the political and partisan bickering in Congress. Maybe the draft of which I wrote could bring a consensus instead of division?

Whatever happened to “United we stand”?

The implication is that we are about to “fall”, and we will if we don’t unite and face the larger issues before us. The larger issues can be simplistically approached as a war between good and evil, and broken down further when looking at evil to the enemy within and the enemy without.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Lessons to be learned, Part1

Regarding the current climate in Washington and the resolve(sic) of Congress about our commitment in Iraq:

This has ONLY been given four years, and it is clearly not enough time. Pres. Bush clearly and truly stated that this war was to last a long time!!

As for other wars, where is our resolve to win?
KOREA - 55 years - and we are STILL THERE!!!
EUROPE - 62 years - and we are STILL THERE!!!

History has shown that it will take much more time than the Dems, and now some Republicans, will allow in the Congress.

Pullout of Iraq and the middle east and the war will truly come home, and not only that, will become a GLOBAL war (it already is) that won't cost a paltry 93 BIL to fund for two more months. It will cost TRILLIONS and possibly cost us our nation given the climate of appeasment that exists.

Unfortunately, I don't see ONE viable candidate from either party willing to give us and the world the straight talk necessary to win.

Take a lesson from France (never thought I'd say that!)
and Mr. Sarkozy. Conservative values and ethics can and will win if only someone has the courage to simply see and tell the truth!!

Pt 2:

A week or two earlier, responses from Al-Zawahiri and later from Moqtada al Sadr about Harry Reids’ comments show clearly that this was to be expected and it is not "stunning" that Al Qaeda and the islamic jihad movement watch this Congress so closely. After all, it does seem that the defeatism displayed by the dems plays right into the hands of the extremists.

In an earlier comment, I described the actions of Reid, Pelosi and company as seditious, and considering that Congress authorized this war, treasonous as well.

And so it was and is. The dems have their heads so far in the sand that they don't recognize what they've done, and then they have the audacity to label republicans as "out of touch" with the mainstream!!

Get in touch!!! Or we will lose!!

To take it a step farther, lets examine what happened at Fort Dix. Had there been an

enforcement of our current immigration laws and a true control of ILLEGAL immigration at our borders, this might have been pre-empted long before it had to be “investigated”.

There is no part of a of a cogent immigration policy that could be called racist as some from the left do. The operative word here is ILLEGAL. As a US citizen, what illegal behavior can I participate in that will be REWARDED?

There isn’t even a reward given for those of us who obey ALL of our laws, yet we are subjected to punitive taxes, illegal governmental intrusion into our lives, and stifling

restrictions currently being legislated in the name of diversity and tolerance.
